Revision and Exam Skills
Exams can be stressful but learning how to prepare well can help you feel more confident and perform at your best. Exams are an important part of university study, and learning how to prepare effectively, manage stress, and perform under pressure can make a real difference to your results.
This workshop will guide you through the different stages of the exam process, from understanding the purpose of exams to planning your revision and preparing yourself mentally and practically for exam day. You’ll explore strategies for managing exam nerves, creating a realistic study plan, and handling the revision workload more effectively. We’ll also look at different ways to revise course content, including techniques for building understanding, improving recall, and applying what you know. In addition, you’ll get practical tips for responding to common exam question types such as multiple choice, short answer, and long answer questions.
By the end of the session, you’ll have a range of strategies to help you revise with purpose, strengthen your understanding of course content, and feel more prepared to perform at your best in exams.
Note: We offer both a general revision and exams session and a session tailored for Science and Engineering students. There is some overlap between the two, and you are welcome to attend whichever session best suits your schedule.
