Report Writing for Science and Engineering

Join our workshop series to learn about the essentials of academic report writing. Each session is designed to build your skills and confidence in creating well-structured, clear, and impactful reports.

  1. Session 1: Developing Good Writing Habits and Understanding Report Writing: Learn to manage your writing process, reflect on the purpose of reports, and consider your audience and context. We’ll cover the key characteristics and structure of effective reports.
  2. Session 2: Crafting Academic Paragraphs and Integrating Evidence: Discover how to tell a coherent story and build strong arguments. This session focuses on integrating evidence, including figures, tables, and references, to support your points.
  3. Session 3: The Editing and Revision Process: Enhance your writing by focusing on logic, flow, style, clarity, and conciseness. Learn to distinguish essential information from superfluous details.

  4. By the end of this workshop series, you’ll be equipped to structure and write comprehensive academic reports. You’ll be able to clearly articulate your research objectives, methodologies, results, and conclusions, all while adhering to academic writing standards.
